Part II to the post About-Face is now posted here. Part one, below, was intentionally succinct. Part II offers some detail on how I see current trending opening a brand new divide in digital markets. This view presents both opportunity and obstacle for enterprises. This follow-up post, and Part I, has been my attempt to demonstrate how social mood can help see into big challenges in specific markets. I began considering the case of markets for content here several years ago when Viacom and Google first clashed legally over links and clicks(page down to oldest posts). At the time I likened it to the range wars on the old western frontier that led to fences and legislatures. Their legal face off lead to the big idea in these two current posts and will, in time, affect everyone. Social trends lead while businesses, industry, and government follow us where we are going. There is a lot of value in seeing trends from this perspective and it can help make sense of change in any market.
