The Root Trend

A discussion about how "social mood", the primary social trend, shapes trending patterns in the markets we serve. This is the root trend. It matters to everyone, especially marketers.

The first diagram is taken directly from Robert Prechter Jr.'s work (Pioneering Studies in Socionomics). The second is a visualization of mine after reading his work and using his ideas. He deserves full credit but the point I am emphasizing with this view is that the two polar states of the developing social mood inspire many deeper looks at our enterprises and their competitive environments...and especially how they change during periods of social correction (negative social mood at larger degrees of trend). Right now is such a time.

The last bullet point below is my thinking but was inspired by Prechter's observations. He may or may not agree with it depending upon how it is used
